Conferences
This page displays the conference bridges that are setup on the system along with the ability to create new bridges.
Add Conference
To begin click the Add Conference button at the top right.
Next fill in the information required to setup the conference bridge, detailed below.
Name: A simple name or description of the bridge.
Type: Dedicated Conference Bridge: A bridge that is not assigned to a user and can be used by anyone. Default and recommended option. Owned Conference Bridge: A bridge assigned to a specific user.
Extension: An internal extension for the bridge. Important, never use another users extension for a bridge, the system will warn you if your attempting to do so.
Direct Phone Number: If the domain has numbers that are not assigned they can be selected here. This is used to allow external users to join the bridge without needing to have a user transfer their call.
Leader & Participant PIN: These optional PINs are used to ensure that only callers that have been given permission to join the bridge can do so.
Options:
Require a leader to start: someone with the leader PIN must join before the conference begins.
Announce participant arrivals / departures: tells everyone when someone joins or leaves the bridge, commonly not used because it can make the bridge noisy and hard to use at the start and end of meetings.
Prompt all participants for their name: used with the above option to allow the callers to record their name.
