Training Exercises

Add an Emergency Address:

  • Address Name: [Hotel name]

  • Caller Name: [Hotel name]

  • Address: 2150 W 6th Ave, Suite D

  • Country Code: United States

  • State: Colorado

  • City: Broomfield

  • ZIP Code: 80020

Click Add User and add the following:

  • First and Last Name: Emma Frost

  • Extension: 600

  • Email: [your email address]

  • Password: [none]

  • Voicemail PIN: 1234

Edit the user and preform the following:

  • Set Emergency address as the hotels main address, then click “Add location description” set the name as “GM” and location as “Office 250, 2nd floor”.

  • Click Save.

  • Edit the phone and manually add a MAC address (make one up), set the Model as Grandstream GRP2616.

  • Click Save.

  • From the Advanced tab click Send Welcome Email.

  • You should receive a welcome email but do not need to complete setup.

  • Go to the rooms tab and click Add Room.

  • Set the Emergency Address and Caller ID.

  • Add rooms 101-120.

  • Go to the Common Area tab and click Add Common Area.

  • Create a lobby common area with extension 130 and the correct emergency address.

  • Edit the domain and set the GM as the emergency notification phone call user.

  • Enter an email address in the Notify Via Email box (real or fake).

  • Set the Emergency Address.

Add a new Auto attendant with the below information:

  • Name: Main

  • Extension: 500

  • Time Frame: default

  • Click on the box to add a new sound recording. Using text-to-speech add the greeting “Thank you for calling, press 1 for sales, press 2 to leave a voicemail”.

  • Click on the number 1, then click User and set 600 as the user to dial then click save.

  • Next click on two and select Voicemail, again enter extension 600.

  • Delete the Operator Queue first.

  • Click on Add Ring Group.

  • Set:

    • Name: Operator

    • Extension: 0

    • Simultaneous ring: 600

    • When unanswered: Voicemail - 600

  • Create a time frame for every day of the week from 10pm to 5am. Name it “Night Times”.

  • Pro tip: Add the second range before adjusting the first.

  • Pro tip: The arrow keys on your keyboard can be used for fine adjustments of the ranges.

  • Edit the DID and set it as the DID for User Emma Frost (600).

  • From the Inventory, Phone Hardware page click Add Gateway.

  • Select Phonesuite PSG1024 from the Dropdown.

  • Make up a MAC address.

  • Click Autofill then Room Walk.

  • Set all ports to Room Walk mode and click Submit.

Set the following settings:

  • Remove US Canada Puerto Rico and USVI from available guest permissions

  • Set Dirty/Vacant as the default check out permission and Dirty/Occupied as the default check in permission

  • Add *35 as a mapping to the operator ring group

  • Remove the permission to check out rooms from the hotel staff using the Hospitality Console

  • Setup *55 as the extension for guests to setup wakeup calls
